Recording Live Events and Location Recording

 

 

 

Westland Studios has a informal partnership with Ireland based mobile recording company Komodo Recordings International, who are based in the Westland Studios building. The two companies have access to each others' equipment lists as long as it is booked in advance.

 

Komodo Recordings was originally set up in the late 90's by Alwyn, Kyle and William Walker and later joined by Darrell Walker, who is now the manager. Since its inception Komodo Recordings has recorded live events and mobile sessions all over Ireland and a few jobs further afield in France and India.

Rock Gigs / Concerts / Live Events

 

Komodo Recordings has several mobile recording setups and all the gear necessary to record gigs and live events professionally. KR also has 2 PA systems and Darrell can also provide the gear and staff for your event's live sound.

Record to either Pro Tools HD (industry standard) and/or Alesis HD24 (standalone system)

 

- Rack of 24 mic splitters

Enables Komodo Recordings to take a "feed" from the mics used by the live sound engineer. 

Only 1 set of mics to be on stage. Komodo will also set up and record ambience mics for capturing the sound of the room and audience. 

 

- Rack of 32 mic preamps

8 x Audient ASP8000, 8x Mackie Onyx, 8x Focusrite Octopre, 8x CLM Dynamics DB8000s

 

- XLR Looms (short)

to avoid a big mess on stage.

Mobile Recording

 

Komodo Recordings has established itself as the premier mobile recording company in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Using churches, school buildings and gymnasiums, Darrell essentially builds a recording studio for the session, with headphones and speakers for all necessary parties (for example conductors).
